Our Visitation Ministry Team makes visits on the second and forth Tuesdays of each month.  We begin at 9:30am and go until about 1:00pm.  The team provides encouragement, fellowship, and prayer with those who are shut-in, sick and lonely.
On visitation days we meet in the TMMC Parlor at 10:00 am to prepare for our visits.
Check the schedule on our church calendar.

Do you know of someone that would like to be included on our list to be visited?
Please help this ministry by letting us know.
We are looking for a few more people to join our visitation team.
If you are interested in this ministry please call the church office for more information.
Your life will be enriched each time you visit our shut-ins.

The third Wednesday of each month Oxford First participates as a Mobile Pantry Partner distribution point for the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.

Through this agreement we distribute food boxes supplied by the Department of Agriculture on a first-come-first-served basis in the drive-through of the TMMC (Family Life Center) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until packages are exhausted. Contact the church office for more information.

The Lucy Mitchell Subgroup meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 1:00pm in the TMMC - Parlor for a Bible study.

Our ladies are very active and offer numerous opportunities for ministry throughout the year.

March, Cookies for the Troops fundraiser partners with our local National Guard to send Girl Scout cookies to Alabama units that are currently deployed.  The National Guard covers the cost of shipping, and we buy the cookies with generous donations.

May, Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser supports Sav-A-Life to help support local families in our community who are in need.

Along with the Palm Sunday Bake Sale and December Cookie Walk & Brunswick Stew fundraisers there are various ministries that our UWiF support all through the year.

Camp Sumatanga, Wesley House, 2nd Chance, SIFAT and Meals-On-Wheels just to name a few.

Bag Day

Each year during November grocery bags and a list of needed food items are provided for the congregation.  The filled bags are brought back and placed on the altar on "Bag Day".

A prayer is said over the bags of food that they will be used to God's glory and be a blessing to those in need.

Sweetly Reaching Out at Christmas

As a branch of our Soup for the Soul team, Sweetly Reaching Out At Christmas supports our local first responders, the congregation provides baskets of home baked goods to those serving the community on Christmas.  Baskets are hand delivered directly following our Christmas Eve church service.

We invite all to participate by donating home-made cookies, candies, and other sweet finger foods to those working on Christmas Eve.

On Wednesday, December 24, 2025, please drop off your tasty "pre-packaged" goodies in the TMMC before or after the Christmas Eve service.  Please prepare enough for seven deliveries.  The Soup for the Soul team will make deliveries to our hometown heroes after the Christmas Eve Service.

As always, thank you for your continued love and support.  Please keep us all in your prayers.

OXFUMC participates with Interfaith ministries to serve people in need in Calhoun County.

Together we provide assistance and serve as an advocate for individuals and families in crisis. We foster interfaith cooperation and understanding as we provide a caring environment for people of all ages and socio-economic levels.

Specifically, OXFUMC provides much needed personal hygiene items, snacks, and bags of groceries to supply Thanksgiving meals.

To continue our efforts in supporting community-based outreach, OXFUMC, is actively involved with Community Enabler Developer. This outreach organization enables the community to become sensitized to the needs of the poor and to participate in public and private advocacy for the disadvantaged by supporting their needs of food, clothing, and utility assistance. To encourage the sustainment of the organization, OXFUMC has an active Board of Directors member.
